Auch wenn viele der Superkräfte in der Welt der „Shadow Ops“ deckungsgleich mit denen der X-Men sind und auch die Geschichte problemlos mit Anpassungen an die Charaktere in einer der Comicserien passieren könnte, so unterscheiden sich die beiden Welten jedoch grundsätzlich.
